The goldbearing ore, located in both the bedding planes of the shale and the diorite, is found in conjunction with iron oxides, pyrite, and chalcopyrite (Pardee and Schrader 1933). There was little work done in the drainage after 1904, with only 1921 production rating a mention in the annual statistics.
